Privacy Policy

Correcto is a Chrome extension that helps users practice spelling by retyping selected words and spelling corrections. This policy explains what data Correcto handles and how it is used.

Data We Collect

Correcto does not collect personal data. Correcto does not operate a server, user account system, analytics system, advertising system, or tracking system.

Text Processing

Correcto processes selected text locally in your browser only to identify the word you want to practice and display the retyping interface. The selected text is not sent to Correcto, a third-party server, or a remote AI service.

Chrome Storage

Correcto uses Chrome extension storage to save your enabled or disabled preference and any custom spelling corrections you choose to add. This information is stored through Chrome's extension storage system and is used only to provide extension functionality.

Permissions

Correcto requests the storage permission to save extension preferences and custom corrections. Correcto requests the contextMenus permission to add the "Retype with Correcto" option when text is selected. Correcto requests access to websites so it can work in text fields and editors where users write.

Data Sharing

Correcto does not sell, rent, share, or transfer user data. Correcto does not use user data for advertising, profiling, credit decisions, or any unrelated purpose.

Children's Privacy

Correcto does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
